Pink kundan Lac Work Jewelry Set
Kundan has it’s own history. The most fascinating and extravagant kundan comes from Rajasthan in the north and Hyderabad in the south. The simply stunning Golcondadiamonds and emeralds were used in the kundan jewelry that graced the Hyderabadi nobility.
The popular stones like uncut rubies, navratanas and popular emeralds came from Rajasthan. Kundan pieces with large size colored precious and semi precious stone are the rage. Lot of similarity in witnessed in the designs from Hyderabad and Rajasthan.
Kundan Jewelry is another blend of gold jewelry. Here, highly refined gold is used in conjunction with a special material called lac. Lac is a natural resin made from ahardened tree sap. Here, each piece of jewelry containing holes is separately made.
These pieces are then joined to make one single piece by soldering. Engraving work is then done, depending upon the design. Following this, lac is laid out in these holes and can be seen from the front side. On this highly refined gold is poured, followed by the precious stone.
